Hasselback Potatoes

Hasselback Potatoes

I’ve always wanted to try Hasselback potatoes and finally made them after seeing them on What Do I Want To Cook Today. This tasty hasselback recipe was extremely easy to make and had very little cleanup. My entire family enjoyed these delicious potatoes and thought they paired well with a juicy steak, roasted tomatoes, and a huge garden salad.

  • Olive oil

How to Make Hasselback Potatoes:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Place the potato between 2 chopsticks (or wooden spatulas).

Use a sharp knife to cut the potato crosswise into ⅛-inch-thick slices, stopping when the knife reaches the chopsticks so the potato stays intact at the bottom. Repeat with the remaining potatoes.

Season each potato with basil, sea salt, and freshly cracked pepper to taste.

Place a thin slice of garlic between each layer.

Hasselback Potatoes

Place the potatoes on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.

Bake for 1 hour or until tender.

Serve with butter, sour cream, cheese, and chives, if desired. Enjoy.

A relative needs his potatoes soaked before cooking. I am wondering if these could be cut before soaking? Or maybe would be better to wait to after they have soaked?
