This 11.6 x 16.5-inch half-sheet size baking mat will turn your pan into a non-stick surface. Silpat is especially great for working with sticky materials such as gooey dough, taffy, caramel, or anything your imagination allows. Nothing sticks to Silpat, so it will save you a lot of time cleaning as there is no more sticky mess on your pans! Silpat never needs greasing, which saves both time and money. Use Silpat instead for any baking recipe that calls for parchment paper. Utilizing Silpat products saves time, money and creates less waste for our environment. It is ideal for use when creating Danish pastries, baking biscuits, working with sugar and all sugary and salted preparations. Silpat Non-Stick Mats are made of fiberglass and silicone, and can be used thousands of times. Life of product varies--lasts 2,000 to 3,000 uses depending on use and care. Can be used at temperatures varying from -40 degrees C to 250 degrees C (-40 degrees F to 482 degrees F). Do not cut the Silpat as the fiberglass mesh particles might migrate into the food. Made in France. Silpat is known around the world as the original non-stick baking liner. Silpat liners are made of fiberglass and food grade silicone and are completely food safe. Nothing sticks to Silpat!

Sasa Demarle Inc. was founded in 1965 by M. Guy Demarle in Northern France. Mr. Demarle was an experienced baker who was seeking a better way to make baguette bread with forms using non-stick silicone coatings. He went on to invent the first non-stick baguette baking trays or filets, as they are known in France. A few years later, Mr. Demarle also went on to invent and create the original Silpat and is known around the world as the original non-stick baking liner. Since then, we continue to strive for improvements in non-stick products for the baking, patisserie and food-service industries.

Silpat nonstick baking sheets are made of woven glass coated with food-standard silicone. Used daily by professionals, the sheets offer multipurpose uses for preparing, cooking, and heating up food. They're also easy to clean--simply wipe them off using hot water and dish soap. Store them by either rolling them up or keeping them flat. Do not cut Silpat baking sheets with metal, but with DeMarle's Exoglass cutters or knives. Silpat baking sheets replace parchment paper, and are heat-resistant up to 480 degrees F. The Silpat makes any baking sheet nonstick--no greasing necessary. The baking sheets are made in France.

Where have these been all my life??!! I will NEVER make cookies again without using these silicone mats!! Yes, they are THAT worth it!! I bought 2 of them and 2 new cookie sheets to make some oatmeal raisin cookies for a Christmas gift and I have to say that th se mats worked amazingly well!! The cookies didn’t stick AT ALL!! They came off the silicone mats super easily and they were all evenly baked very nicely! I will HIGHLY recommend these silicone mats to anyone who asks about some!!

    I have owned my Silpat mats for over 10 years now. SILPAT is the brand you want. It was made in France and is a silicone mesh, very well made. The first thing you do when you get it is wash it with dish detergent. The second thing you do is put it on a pan alone in the oven for 350F. It needs to outgas for the first time. After that first time, the only thing you do is make sure your temp is not too high, and DO NOT CUT ON IT... The only way I lost my mats was when someone tried to cut the food item while still on the mat. If you cut it, you need to throw it away. I cannot remember a time now, when I do not bake cookies or bread without my SILPAT. Doing otherwise is just silly to me now. I also use it for rolling out cookie dough or biscuit dough on the table. Nothing sticks to it. The food comes right off. The wash is a simple detergent wipe and rinse. Mine has minimal residue from over a decade of baking, but it has not harmed the performance one bit. I roll it up when dry and stick it in the drawer. I would NOT buy another brand, even if it cost half as much. SILPAT from France is one brand I am comfortable with as safe and WELL worth the money. (And I might add that the price has not gone up in those ten years....)

    Awesome performance, period. You can expect total non-stick and very even, consistent browning on the bottom when these are used with a good quality all-aluminum half-sheet pan. The only downside is the transference of flavors. I baked a beautiful batch of CC cookies, then washed the mat in warm soapy water in the sink, rinsed and let dry in rack. About 3 days later, I baked Kaiser rolls on the same mats. Again, beautiful browning result. However, the rolls all had a distinctive chocolatey-sweet taste in the bottom crust. I checked the mats, and indeed, even after washing, they still smelled like cookies! I popped them in the dishwasher, top rack using an UN-scented dishwashing detergent, and that eradicated the smell completely. The silicone in silicone mats behaves like a fat or oil. That is what ensures the anti-stick properties. "Like dissolves like" so if you are baking something that contains flavored fats, like chocolate chips, you can expect some transfer of flavor to the mat. Just be aware of that. They are top rack dishwasher safe, but make certain you do not use scented dishwasher tabs when you wash, or the scent will also transfer to the silicone.

    I do not use this mat for cookie baking, however, I know many people do and love them. I use it primarily for pie shells, bread dough, etc when rolling out. I love this product, have given them away to people I know. They are easy to use, easy to wash, easy to store. The smallest one is a bit small for my needs so I have a larger mat and I would recommend that one if you roll out very many things like pie dough's. To preserve it, do not cut on it and I am sure it will last a long time.

Silpat is especially great for working with sticky materials such as gooey dough, taffy, caramel, or anything your imagination allows. Nothing sticks to Silpat, so it will save you a lot of time cleaning as there is no more sticky mess on your pans! Silpat never needs greasing, which saves both time and money. Use Silpat instead for any baking recipe that calls for parchment paper. Utilizing Silpat products saves time, money and creates less waste for our environment. It is ideal for use when creating Danish pastries, baking biscuits, working with sugar and all sugary and salted preparations. Silpat Non-Stick Mats are made of fiberglass and silicone, and can be used thousands of times. Life of product varies--lasts 2,000 to 3,000 uses depending on use and care. Can be used at temperatures varying from -40 degrees C to 250 degrees C (-40 degrees F to 482 degrees F). Do not cut the Silpat as the fiberglass mesh particles might migrate into the food. Silpat nonstick baking sheets are made of woven glass coated with food-standard silicone. Used daily by professionals, the sheets offer multipurpose uses for preparing, cooking, and heating up food. They're also easy to clean--simply wipe them off using hot water and dish soap. Store them by either rolling them up or keeping them flat. Do not cut Silpat baking sheets with metal, but with DeMarle's Exoglass cutters or knives. Silpat baking sheets replace parchment paper, and are heat-resistant up to 480 degrees F. The Silpat makes any baking sheet nonstick--no greasing necessary. The baking sheets are made in France.
